We work to identify gaps in support for children and young people within the Youth Justice System and ensure the workforce is equipped to provide support.
We know that many children and young people who end up in contact with the Youth Justice System have complex and overlapping needs, such as having SEND and/or being Looked After.
A lack of early identification and appropriate support leads some young people to offend.
Through research and training, we work to ensure children's needs are identified earlier, and to improve support for children and young people within the Youth Justice System (for example, through Liaison and Diversion services and Young Offender's Institutes).
