What is the LINKS project?
NCB facilitated a support network, LINKS, for all organisations grant aided by The National Lottery Community Fund under the Empowering Young People’s Programme, which ended in 2024. Through Empowering Young People, The National Lottery Community Fund supported projects that gave young people in Northern Ireland aged 8-25 the ability to cope with challenges in their lives.
Young People Advisory Group (YPAG)
To help support the LINKS project we recruited a small group of young people aged 8-25, with an understanding of the challenges young people in Northern Ireland face. A film produced by the YPAG explains more, click here.
What did the group do?
- Acted as a sounding board for NCB as the support contract evolves
- Provided a 'challenge function' to NCB, ensuring that the programme was relevant, responsive and 'real' in terms of supporting organisations to meet the needs of young people in similar situations
- Assisted in the development of resources for the promotion of participation work with grant holders
- Tested out such resources
- Participated in training that was developed to be used with other young people in ‘peer education’ groups
Resources developed by the YPAG
