Making it REAL is an EY literacy programme developed in the 1990s by the NCB and the University of Sheffield, based on a study by Professor Cathy Nutbrown.
The National Children’s Bureau is national delivery partner for the Early Years Stronger Practice Hubs programme, working on behalf of the Department for Education (DfE).
Special making it REAL was originally funded as part of Early Years SEND partnership run by the Council for Disabled Children and is now available nationally.
The National Children's Bureau has been appointed to manage and help redesign two of the Mayor of London's awards schemes that recognise the efforts of early years settings and school to help children and families in the capital to be as healthy as possible.
Our early years work in Northern Ireland is funded by the Public Health Agency and focuses on supporting the infant mental health agenda and supporting the delivery of the Incredible Years Parenting Programmes.
