This report highlights findings from a recent early years workforce survey (England only) which was undertaken in order to gain an up to date picture of the challenges facing the early years workforce, particularly in light of the coronavirus pandemic and to identify key recommendations. Common concerns included:
- Funding challenges which risk the sustainability of a quality workforce
- Disruption to expert intervention for families, particularly those where children have special educational needs.
A widening attainment gap due to the unequal impact of Covid on children from more and less deprived areas.
