On Street Community Youth in Derry/Londonderry is using a £499,998 grant to deliver youth development programmes in Galliagh, Skeoge and Carnhill through the Youth Matters project, to empower young people, improve wellbeing and develop young leaders.
Over three years the project will engage young people on the streets to build relationships and provide a listening ear service and run activities and events to provide positive community experiences for the young people. Activities include volunteer training, mental health workshops, exercise classes, healthy eating classes and event training followed by the young people planning and delivering a community event.
