The three-year Moving Forward – Moving On project is providing young people aged 16–24 with pre-employment training and a mentoring support programme.
The project is using a £327,327 grant and is focusing on young people in Belfast and Antrim and Newtownabbey council areas who are not in employment, education or training, and/or have a history of offending behaviour. The project will support them to take part in activities to teach them new skills, including an OCN Level 1 Choices Programme. It will also support them to take part in training, education or a work placement.
The project is working in two homeless hostels in Belfast and in Woodlands Juvenile Justice Centre to support young people in custody and help them resettle back into their communities upon release.
