The YEAR project is working over five years to support young people aged 14-24 from the Causeway Coast and Glens area who face issues including isolation, poor mental health and anti-social behaviour.
The project using the £299,910 grant to run training, work experience, social enterprise activities, and volunteering opportunities. This is improving the young people’s mental health and wellbeing, confidence, and their ability to make good choices and cope with challenges. They are also developing better relationships within their community.
Activities include personal development workshops such as managing money, OCN qualifications, work experience with employers, and social enterprise activities including T-shirt making. The project is also running training for organisations and people who support young people at risk.
