The Department of Education (DE) commissioned a Review of Childcare Services in Northern Ireland to inform the development of the Executive’s Early Learning and Childcare Strategy.
It involved surveys and focus groups or interviews with parents, carers, childcare providers and other people within the childcare sector. The output of the Review is a detailed, evidence-based, research report, published on 22 June 2023 on the DE website here.
The aim of this Review was to provide a current, comprehensive, evidence-based assessment of the childcare sector in Northern Ireland. This independent review was carried out by RSM UK Consulting, along with its partners: National Children’s Bureau; Dr Glenda Walsh of Stranmillis University College; and LucidTalk.
