The West Sussex School Inclusion Project, previously known as the School Exclusion Programme, aimed to use conversation and diversionary activities to reduce the risk of exclusion and support young people to feel valued in their school and wider community. In 2022-23 it was delivered in 10 schools, with the two organisations, The Sid Youth and AudioActive, working in different areas across the country.
In Summer 2022, NCB was commissioned by the Sussex Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP) to undertake a process and impact evaluation of the Programme. The aims were to: a) understand how and why participants achieve outcomes, which participants do/do not achieve outcomes, and what factors are the most important drivers of outcomes; b) evidence the short-term outcomes achieved and the long-term impacts of the interventions, and; c) provide recommendations for the future delivery and evaluation of these interventions.
