The Schools’ Wellbeing Partnership and Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition have published a joint position statement in response to the Department for Education’s revised Behaviour in Schools guidance and the Suspension and Permanent Exclusion guidance. We support the need for a calm, orderly and supportive school environment as important for wellbeing and learning, emphasising the role that whole school approaches can play in achieving this goal. We highlight case studies of good practice where positive behaviour strategies and whole school approaches are being used successfully to support behaviour.
