Our Your Baby and You programme supports parents to provide a positive home learning environment for their child.
The quality of the home learning environment has a significant impact on children’s development, in the short and long term. Evidence consistently shows that helping parents to speak, play and read more with their child is the key to creating a stimulating home learning environment
Your Baby and You was evaluated as part of the Lambeth Early Action Partnership (LEAP). The evaluation showed that programme has a positive impact on parent’s knowledge, confidence and motivation to provide an improved home learning environment for their child. I thought the sessions were brilliantly facilitated and so useful to me as a new mother. I’ve picked up some great tips and skills on how to help my baby develop, how to engage him and help him learn age appropriately.

Your Baby and You
A four-week programme delivered by NCB early years specialists to parents and their babies aged 0-1 years old.
- Weekly two-hour workshops delivered in a Children Centre or similar setting
- Workshops based on four strands of literacy: Communication and Language; Songs Rhymes and Music; Books and Early Mark-Making
- Workshops involve activities for parents and babies to enjoy together in a fun and relaxed environment
- Suitable for groups of up to 15 parents and babies
- Parents receive programme guide and resource pack
