Sarah is a senior leader with over 35 years of experience in central and local government and the charity sector.
She spent 11 years at HM Treasury, and six years at Camden Council. She has a good understanding of the structures, relationships and cultures of central government departments and local government directorates.
Sarah also has a wealth of experience of charity governance and strategy. In the charity sector, she was previously the Chair of Bliss, the national charity for premature and sick babies, and the Chair of Respect, a national domestic abuse charity. She is also the co-Chair of a new charity, Freedom Friday, which is building a campaign to stop violence against women and girls.
Sarah is experienced in the complexities of the health and social care systems from her experience in local government. She also has strategic experience in improving equality, diversity and inclusion. She has been a trustee at NCB for four years, becoming Vice Chair in 2023 and was appointed Chair in January 2026.
