The Learning for Action project is using a £499,993 grant over two and a half years to provide essential skills training to improve the employability of young people aged 16-24 from across Northern Ireland.
It is also providing opportunities for the young people to use these new skills by running programmes. The project is building their confidence, self-esteem and appreciation of learning.
The project is offering OCN-accredited literacy, numeracy and ICT classes in Armagh, Ballymena, Bangor, Belfast, Derry/Londonderry, Enniskillen, Newtownards, and Omagh. At least one young person in each area will have the opportunity to take part in a Future Young Leaders programme and complete and OCN Level 2 Youth Leader qualifications.
Using these qualifications, they will develop links with the community and promote positive change with the help of a steering group.
