The Young Adults Carers Service is supporting young people aged 18-25 across Northern Ireland who care for a family member, sibling, relative or friend.
The three-year project is using the £488,592 grant to provide one to one support and group activities across Northern Ireland. These include outdoor pursuits, theatre workshops, information about LGBT issues, advice on good mental health, accredited courses and support with job applications and benefits.
The project is increasing their confidence and resilience. It is also providing opportunities for them to meet with each other at a time when they are dealing with changes in their lives such as leaving education, starting a job, or starting new relationships. A support worker will be based in each of the Trust areas.
