Gender and children and young people's emotional and mental health
To support the children’s mental health transformation agenda outlined in Future in Mind, NCB is sharing research evidence, young people’s voices and examples of promising practice relating to gender dimensions in children and young people’s mental health.
Children, Young People and Health Participation
NCB supports children and young people to input into health policy and practice development. This document provides a summary of our learning from recent years, hearing what children and young people have told us is important to them.
Ready to listen
Ready to listen: Why, when and how to involve young children and their families in local decisions about health and wellbeing aims to support discussion with young children and their parents/carers about health and wellbeing and to facilitate their involvement in decision-making about local health structures, systems and practice.
Housing and the Health of Young Children
Poor housing is thought to affect 3.6 million children. A higher percentage of children live in overcrowded conditions than any other age group. Families in rented accommodation and on low incomes are at increased risk of being affected by these issues and by other threats to their health and wellbeing. This briefing focuses on the needs of such families.
A whole school framework for emotional well-being and mental health
Building on the 'What Works' Guidance for Schools we have produced a self assessment and improvement tool for school leaders to support them in implementing a whole school approach for emotional well being and mental health. It is complemented by a set of resources to support in the application of the tool.
