Supporting DMOs and DCOs and cultivating understanding of their importance in implementing the SEND reforms.
CDC has been doing significant work with clinicians to understand how the Designated Medical Officer (DMO) or Designated Clinical Officer (DCO) can support the vision of the Children & Families Act 2014.
This programme of work involves bringing DMOs and DCOs together - both via an online community of practice and through meetings and conferences - producing handbooks and resources to support them in their role, and sharing best practice case studies and learning.
