A solution building workshop for social workers and social care staff working with disabled children and young people and those with SEN
This workshop is hosted by your SEND Regional Network and will be facilitated by the Council for Disabled Children
This workshop is for Social Workers/Social Care staff in both Children and Adult Services who have an understanding of EHC assessment and planning, Early Help and Social Care pathways and services in their local authority
The aim of this workshop is to provide social care professionals with an opportunity to explore current challenges and develop examples of good practice around Social Care for Children and Young People with SEND in:
- Providing social care advice in EHC Needs Assessment and Planning
- Relevant and proportionate information sharing when there are complex needs
- Working across adult and children services
- Understanding Short Breaks Responsibilities
- Responding to developments in case law

*In preparation for the session, if possible please print off and bring a copy of your local threshold document, examples of your local processes for providing social care advice as part of EHC needs assessment and planning, as well as examples of EHC plans.
