We are commissioned to do work which aligns with our charitable mission.
We are trusted by a diverse range of partners to do work that directly supports our mission to build a better childhood for every child.
We are routinely commissioned by partners and a range of organisations – including government, statutory bodies, local authorities, research institutions, charities and other providers – to provide high-quality advice and support shaped by our values, informed by evidence and by listening to the voices of children and families and the experiences of front-line practitioners.
Crucially, as a charity, any surplus generated from our work gets channelled directly back into the funding of our research, policy and practice work related to improving the lives of children and families.
I wanted to thank you... I thought you did a really excellent job of managing what could have been a very difficult conversation and I was very grateful for the way you led.
Our unique value
Our perspective as a national charity working at the intersection of a number of systems supporting children and families enables us to draw on what we can see working and make the most of our exceptional relationships with organisations such as the Department for Education, NHS England, the National Lottery – with whom we regularly share intelligence on common challenges and opportunities for improvement at a national level.
Our team is spread across the UK and comprises children’s sector figureheads and trusted government and civil service advisors; subject matter experts, skilled at working with complexity as leaders of multi-disciplinary partnerships and teams; policy specialists, mixed-method researchers and academics with extensive sector networks; and a cohort of data analysts and project managers providing critical backbone infrastructure support.
Many of our consultants bring first-hand experience of working with children and young people and their families in local contexts, ensuring that we keep the family experience at the heart of our work.
We are values-led and always aim to foster an inclusive, non-judgmental relationship which takes political and social context into account and is combined with a supportive approach, friendly facilitators and a focus on solutions and building momentum.
This has been so valuable... I think what we've done today is going to have an enormous impact. It was excellently facilitated and a really good foundation for us to move forward.
