In September 2016, NCB started delivering the LINKS Programme.
LINKS is a support network for all organisations grant aided by the Big Lottery Fund under the Empowering Young People’s Programme (EYP). Through EYP, the Big Lottery Fund supports projects that give young people in Northern Ireland aged 8-25 the ability to cope with challenges in their lives.
The support provided by LINKS for EYP grant holders is delivered across Northern Ireland in a number of ways:
• Cluster Group Meetings
• Tailored one-to-one support
• Collaboration with Young People in the Lead (the BLFs youth group)
The support covers a range of themes:
• Sharing learning and best practice
• Measuring impact
• Involving children and young people in project design, delivery and review
To date 18 groups have been grant aided by EYP. They are:
Acceptable Enterprises, ADDNI Ltd, Compass Advocacy Network (CAN), Foyle Down’s Syndrome Trust, Include Youth, L’Arche Belfast, Leonard Cheshire Disability, Liberty Consortium, MACS Supporting Young People, Oasis Caring in Action, Off the Street Community Youth Initiative, Orchardville Society Ltd, The Bytes Project, The Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children, Training for Women Network, Upper Andersonstown Community Forum, Women’s Aid ABCLN & YouthAction NI
We have conducted strength and support needs assessments with 7 organisations and will shortly be commencing the delivery of workshops. We have also created social media platforms for LINKS grant holders to connect with and lean from each other. We look forward to welcoming new grant holders to the LINKS family as the EYP funding programme progresses.
