What is the LINKS project?
NCB facilitates a support network, LINKS, for all organisations grant aided by The National Lottery Community Fund under the Empowering Young People’s Programme. Through Empowering Young People, The National Lottery Community Fund supports projects that give young people in Northern Ireland aged 8-25 the ability to cope with challenges in their lives.
Young People Advisory Group (YPAG)
To help support the LINKS project we would like to recruit a small group of young people aged 8-25, who have an understanding of the challenges young people in Northern Ireland face today. A film produced by the YPAG explains more, click here.
What will the group do?
The terms of reference will be developed by the young people but we anticipate they will have the following functions:
- Act as a sounding board for NCB as the support contract evolves
- Provide a 'challenge function' to NCB, ensuring that the programme is relevant, responsive and 'real' in terms of supporting organisations to meet the needs of young people in similar situations
- Assist in the development of resources for the promotion of participation work with grant holders
- Test out such resources
- Participate in training that will be developed and that can be used with other young people in ‘peer education’ groups
The group will meet 4 times a year. All transport and catering costs are covered by NCB so it’s free to join.
Resources developed by the YPAG
The YPAG has developed resources for grant holders which can be downloaded below.
