Enver leads our policy, research, fundraising, communications, and information work. He is also co-chair of the Alliance for Children in Care.
Prior to joining NCB, Enver was director of policy and public affairs at the Children's Society leading work on influencing the government's welfare reforms and producing a major report with parliamentarians on children who go missing from care.
Enver has also worked as an assistant director of policy and research at Barnardo's where he led on youth justice, children in care, safeguarding, child sexual exploitation and youth support. Before working at Barnardo's he was deputy director of the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies (CCJS).
Enver has produced a number of reports and co-edited three books for Policy Press, most recently a review of child protection: Effective safeguarding for children and young people. What next after Munro? He has also lectured on the MA in Child Studies at King's College and previously contributed to the King's Masters programme in Criminology.
Enver has been Chair of the End Child Poverty coalition and Chair of the Standing Committee for Youth Justice coalition and sat on various advisory boards and groups for the Office of the Children's Commissioner, the Department of Education, the Home Office and the HM Inspectorate of Prisons.
Fun fact: 'Before I worked in the voluntary sector I spent the first decade of my working life at the BBC which took me to some far flung places. One time in Cambodia I crash landed in a helicopter into a minefield but astonishingly all the journalists on board survived.'
