Jon joined NCB as a Senior Researcher in February 2018. He has over 5 years of experience with social research from the charity and university sectors.
His research is mainly on the experiences of children, young people and professionals in relation to areas like services, identity and social networks. In this research, he focuses particularly on children affected by SEND, low socio-economic status, gender inequality, ethnic minority status and criminal offending. To date, his work has led to several publications and conference presentations.
Jon’s interests include participatory research with children and young people, ethics and power in research, news representations of children and the history of charities. He is also keen on new methods for researching children, using software for data analysis and linking policy and research efforts.
