Involving children and young people
NCB believes in the importance of consulting children and young
people in all decisions that affect their lives. We can provide
advice and support on involving children and young people
throughout your organisation and, through Young NCB-our
young membership scheme, we can consult with over 400 young people
from a wide range of backgrounds.
We offer a range of resources supporting best practice in
participation. These resources can provide you with 'stand-alone'
practical support or compliment your in-house training. They can
give you guidance and ideas on how to embed children and young
people's participation within your organisation.
Accredited and non-accredited learning and
development
We have trained over 6,000 organisations across the sectors and
have an excellent reputation for high quality, participatory style
training with proven results. Our established courses can be
delivered in-house or as e-learning options. If your needs are more
specific we can tailor our activities to meet your learning
outcomes.
Organisational and product improvement
We offer access to youth voice through our National Confidential
Feedback Service. If your organisation develops resources aimed at
young people, then this service could help you have a greater
impact. It ensures that resources are continually improved based on
their impact on children and young people themselves.
In partnership with Carnegie Leaders we are offering Action
Impact, a consultancy programme that supports organisations to
integrate impact evaluation to ensure better results for children
and young people.
Tailored packages of resources and training around youth
inspection
The Young Inspectors Package offers tailored suites of resources
and training along with dedicated consultancy time in order for
organisations to develop young inspectors programmes that are
suited to their needs. The 'Young Inspectors Package' comprises of
a group of 9 'stand alone' modules, each module consisting of an
integrated package of information, resources and defined
consultancy support. The complete package develops local
staff to support and train young people to conduct objective
assessments of local services, make recommendations, follow-up and
then support recommendations for service improvements.

Tailored packages of resources and training around youth
employability
Our Skills Development Programme offers a range of tailored
support packages aimed at improving employment opportunities and
skills for young people. We provide training, workshops, support
and guidance directly to unemployed young people. We also work
closely with a range of voluntary organisations that are able to
offer work experience opportunities for young people.
Through our positive engagement with over 80 young people and 15
placement providers, we are now able to offer tailored
employability training and guidance to small, medium or large
organisations that are looking to up-skill young people and move
them into employment.
