For many years NCB has championed the meaningful involvement and
participation of children and young people in all matters that
affect their lives. NCB actively tries to engage young people in
all areas of its work and even involves young people in the
recruitment process of hiring new staff, on its Board and in the
majority of its project work.
Participation Works is a partnership of six national children
and young people's agencies that help organisations engage and
involve young people.
Young NCB is a free membership for under 18's. They work
together to improve the lives of children and young people in
England and Northern Ireland, speaking out and taking action on the
issues that affect them.
Young Inspectors is a youth inspection package of participation
resources and training.
The VSS Programme provides a range of practical support to
VCS organisations and social enterprises who work with young
The Skills Development Programme (SDP) is a skills and
employment initiative working directly with young people in

Life Routes is an innovative life skills programme, specifically
developed to raise levels of young people's self-confidence and
