The Local Authority Early Years Network (LAEYN) consists of lead
officers and colleagues from the 152 English local
authorities.
The network focuses on addressing cross cutting
strategic, policy and practice issues affecting the early
years sector. It meet 4 times a year at NCB, including once
annually with the Early Childhood Forum.
Recent topics have included commissioning early years services,
creativity, working with parents, Early Years Foundation
Stage and quality improvement.

Survey
In February and March 2011 NCB surveyed LAEYN members
on the impact of recent changes in policy and funding on their
early years services. 53 members (35% of local authorities)
