Skills Development Programme
The SDP is a skills and employment initiative working directly
with young people in London who are struggling to find work.
We offer a structured and supported 10 week employability
programme to young people aged 16-24 from areas of high
unemployment in London with the aim of improving their future job
prospects.
During the programme young people will work with us for 16 hours
per week to:
- Improve their core transferable skills
- Increase their workplace experience and
- Be supported towards further employment, education and training
post programme.
To make this happen we work with voluntary and
community sector organisations in London. These organisations offer
a five week work placement that enable young people to gain 'on the
job' learning opportunities. We work with trainers, experts and
every young person has a dedicated personal mentor.
Successes
We have recruited and worked with over 50 young
people on the Skills Development Programme. Of these 50 young
people, three quarters have moved on to further
employment, education or training.

SDP.
