Latest news: 1 in 4 young people tell us they did not
learn about HIV in school Many thanks to over 800 young
people who recently told us about their experience of HIV education
in school. 1 in 4 young people had not learnt anything about HIV in
school and lots of suggestions were made about how education about
HIV can be improved. Read the

This leaflet tells you about your rights regarding SRE in
schools, and what the law says.
It also offers top tips, developed with young people, for
taking action to improve SRE, and a couple of examples to
inspire you!

This charter for change was written in 2008 after more than 1,700
young people had told us about their experiences of SRE, and how
their thought it could be improved.

Young people's survey on sex and relationships
Summary of the key findings of an SEF survey which asked 16-25

This is a website about young people and their health and
lifestyles, using film, sound and forums to let young people
express their views. Features videos and audio clips of
young people talking about their experiences and views of
school sex education.

Other Useful
Websites
Avert is an
international HIV and AIDS charity. Their Teens section has
information on sex and relationships, puberty, safer sex, being gay
or lesbian, and HIV and AIDS.
Brook runs a
network of clinics across the UK providing free and confidential
sexual health clinics and contraception to young people under 25,
and also runs an advice service for young people.
The Brook website has a lot of useful information for young
people, including the Sex and
Relationships section, the My
Rights section, and the My Body section.
IPPF
(International Planned Parenthood Federation) provides
sexual and reproductive health services around the world. The
IPPF Youth Team works with young people from many countries
and you can read the Youth Manifesto and their Youth
Working group reports on a range of subjects, such as sexual
orientation or faith and sexuality, on the IPPF website
Like
It Is - a website for young people from Marie Stopes
International, a not-for-profit organisation that provides
sexual and reproductive health services. The website has
information on a range of subjects, including sex, contraception,
periods, STIs, teenage pregnancy and relationships.
Participation
Works is a partnership of six national children
and young people's
agencies that work to help organisations to effectively
involve children and young
people in the development, delivery and evaluation of services
that affect their lives. Among the resources available to download
are a series of guides for children and young people on their
rights to be heard in various situations, such as in school and in
