You're Welcome - Young people, health services and the role of the voluntary sector
Theme: Voluntary Sector Support
One of three half-day events being held around the country in partnership with regional government offices, designed specifically for voluntary and community sector organisations. These events will cover the policy background to You're Welcome, the implications of the initiative to the third sector, and how third sector organisations can get involved. Government Office leads for You're Welcome will be at each event, as well as representatives from statutory and voluntary organisations who have been involved in it.

Tackling Bullying in the Community

"Bullying happens everywhere – at the park, in school, lessons, on the way home, on buses – it is everywhere – happens to me every day..." (male, aged 14, with emotional, behavioural and learning difficulties) Over recent years, the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) has become increasingly aware of how bullying in the wider community can impact on the well-being of children and young people. To support local practitioners to get to grips with the new DCSF Safe from Bullying guidance on tackling bullying in a range of community settings, ABA is organising a series of one-day conferences in each of the nine government regions, including this event in London.
