Healthy Outlooks
Welcome to Healthy Outlooks - NCB's programme that targets
children and young people most at risk of health inequalities. We
carry out a range of projects that focus on children and young
people who are vulnerable to health inequalities - including
children and young people who are 'looked after' or leaving care,
those caught up in the criminal justice system, and those who find
themselves homeless or vulnerably housed.
Healthy Outlooks aims to develop and share effective practice
amongst practitioners who work with children and young people
vulnerable to health inequalities across these settings. We aim
to:
- promote a more coherent approach to health promotion across the
different services that work with vulnerable children and young
people
- explore and share evidence about 'what works' in promoting the
health and well-being of vulnerable children and young people
- build consensus about policy and practice issues that need to
be addressed to fill gaps in health services and support for
vulnerable children and young people
We do this by:
- running a number of discrete projects;
- producing a free bi-monthly e-newsletter;
- organising seminars and events;
- producing practical resources - many of which are available to
download for free on this site.
