Local Authority Charter Implementation Plans

EDCM encourages all local authorities that have signed up to the Local Authority Charter to produce an implementation plan.

This supports local authorities to be transparent about their timescales and plans for delivering each commitment and enables parents and disabled young people themselves to hold their local authority to account. You can view some examples of implementation plans here:

Download Wolverhampton's implementation plan

Download Cornwall’s implementation plan.

If your local authority has signed up and you would like to view their implementation plan you can email them to ask for a copy.

Building on the EDCM Local Authority Charter

Some of the first local authorities to sign up to the Charter have now fully implemented their commitments and are looking at how they can continue to improve on the services that they provide to local disabled children and their families.

See the City of York’s plans for improving services for disabled children and their families from 2009 – 12.
