EDCM supports the work of the Special Educational Consortium (SEC), one of EDCM's four founding member organisations.

SEC works to protect and promote the interests of disabled children and children with special educational needs (SEN). SEC is a broad consortium and defines its policies by identifying areas of consensus that exist among the wide range of groups represented within it.

SEC takes a key role in briefing on education bills in Parliament, to ensure they meet the needs of children with SEN.
