Inclusion Policy

CDC wanted to celebrate what is working well in education and in family and community life. This is why CDC set up a working group to develop and publish a new policy statement on inclusion.

CDC is an umbrella organisation with membership from organisations that hold a range of views on inclusion. The working group was set up with representation across the spectrum and who met up a number of times during 2007.

This document reflects the discussions the group had and sets out a policy and a set of principles that CDC consider to be crucial to the development of inclusion. The principles are then illustrated with examples from existing practice. The examples are taken from a range of different settings. They hold the potential for a more inclusive future.
