CDC NHS White Paper Seminar
9 September 2010, National Children’s Bureau, London

healthThe NHS White Paper, Equity and excellence: Liberating the NHS, sets out the Government's long-term vision for the future of the NHS.   The Council for Disabled Children (CDC) have organised this unique seminar to explore this White Paper and its possible impact on the lives of disabled children, young people and their families.  It will focus on key messages we as the third sector need to present to Government when responding to the four consultation papers accompanying this white paper.

Why Attend

The NHS White Paper will bring significant changes to the health system including changes in commissioning  measuring outcomes and the regulation of health and adult social care.  It is important that the third sector shapes the way in which these changes happen to ensure they have a positive impact on the lives of disabled children and young people.

During the seminar participants will:

  • Gain a clear understanding of the White Paper and its related consultation documents
  • See how the proposed changes to the NHS are expected to impact on disabled children and young people; and
  • Come away with key messages to inform their own consultation responses.

Outputs
A key output of the seminar will be CDC’s responses to the four consultation papers arising from this white paper that incorporate the key learning points from the day.  On the day you will be provided with PowerPoint presentations, speakers’ biographies, and attendee list.
