The Young Children's Voices Network supported local authorities
nationally in developing good practice in listening to young
children, so that young children's views may inform policy and
improve early childhood services. The network was government-funded
and based at ECU from 2006 to 2011. ECU continues to
provide listening to young children resources
and training as
well as consultancy to help you set up a local YCVN or to
further embed listening practice in your area.
The NCB Research Centre undertook an evaluation of
YCVN in 2011, resulting in the report Putting listening practice at
the heart of early years practice: an evaluation of the Young
Children's Voices Network.
