NCB Appoints New Director of Research

NCB is delighted to
welcome Ivana LaValle as the new Director of Research, Evidence and
Evaluation at NCB.
Ivana, who takes up the post at NCB from 2 November, has been
working at the National Centre for Social Research since 1998, and
as their Director of the Families and Children Group for the past
six years. Barbara Hearn, Deputy Chief Executive, NCB, said: 'Ivana
is a highly competent and experienced researcher with a strong
reputation in Government and amongst her peers. Her background
focuses on ensuring research is effectively disseminated to policy
and practice professionals, and we are delighted that she is
joining us at NCB.'
Ivana, a previous colleague of the outgoing Director of
Research, Evidence and Evaluation - Jane Lewis, has a long list of
publications to her name including those in the area of childcare
and early years education, family support, and work-family
reconciliation.
Ivana LaValle, said: I have always admired NCB for its
commitment to putting children and young people at the heart of
policy planning and delivery, and for its impressive range of
dissemination activities. I am delighted to join NCB and to lead
their research department, which plays such a key role in ensuring
that research and evidence are used to improve children's and young
people's lives.'
