A new course has been launched by NCB,
designed to enable participants to develop a framework to ensure
that children with complex health needs, children who require
moving and handling, and children with challenging behaviour are
safely included in services.
The "Including All of Us course" will be held at various
locations and will be of interest to managers and
practitioners in education, early years, social services and health
sectors who work with disabled children.
Participants will learn about the balance between rights and
risks and develop knowledge of the policies and processes that need
to be in place to include all children. By the end of the course,
participants will be able to identify the barriers and issues for
these groups of children in accessing services, and be able to
consider what further action is required in their own practice or
setting to be inclusive.
The course will be led by Jeanne Carlin and Jan Morrison and is
taking place on 18 March at the Ibis Centre in Birmingham, 19 May
at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations in London, and
17 June at The Liner in Liverpool.
