Take a parachute and jump for NCB

Thursday 7 May 2009

Two adventurous friends, Donna Foot-Batten and Jaime Nutt, did a fundraising parachute jump for NCB on 12 April at the Oxford RAF airfield. The brave women raised £1,050 together, and considered the jump an experience that everyone should have at least once.

Donna said: "Jumping through clouds hurts, believe it or not… It was freezing cold and we couldn't see a thing, which made a surreal experience even stranger. This is something everyone should experience - it's truly amazing."

Jaime, who works at NCB's charity partner of the year Eden Brown, praised the instructors who showed them the ropes before jumping with them.

Both women undertook a 10,000ft tandem jump with their instructors.

Jaime said: "It was a brilliant day and all my family came out to watch. The guys were so great, and really put us at ease. I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning."

NCB is looking for other volunteers to sign up for a skydive from 10,000ft or a solo jump from up to 3,000ft. Contact Chantal in the fundraising department on 020 7843 6320 or email events@ncb.org.uk
